MiniLuxe: Tell us about yourself and your journey as a nail designer – how did you come to work at MiniLuxe?
Vivianne: I am originally from Austin, TX and worked in a safe salon environment out there. When I would come to visit Dallas and needed my nails done, Miniluxe is where I went. In time, I knew I would be moving up here and I wanted to be a part of the team. I spoke to a few managers before moving and knew this was where I wanted to be. I have been with the company for almost two years now and I enjoy going to work. When guests allow me to be creative, I love it that much more.
Miniluxe: What does “Clarity” mean to you?
Vivianne: To me, Clarity is being clear or transparent. Having clarity in life allows you to better see the goals you set for yourself.
Miniluxe: What does “Grounded” mean to you?
Vivianne: To me, Grounded means stability. It shows consistency, self discipline and organization.
MiniLuxe: Tell us about your nail art design/style – how would you describe it and where did you draw inspiration from?
Vivianne: Starting out, I wanted to do a little bit of everything. I have been doing nails for 8 years and it has been a journey. I like to consider my art style as geometric. I love any sort of complex, abstract, lines, shapes, etc. My style is anything that allows me to be as precise as I want to be or as abstract as I want the design to be.
MiniLuxe: Why did you choose Grounded as your color?
Vivianne: My favorite color is green, any shade of green really. The name intrigued me that much more and knew it was the color I wanted to highlight. I love the warm earth tone it brings out in the Clarity collection, but also love that it can also be a fall color. I consider myself a small town girl who loves nature, lakes, and trees. Grounded reminded me of home.
MiniLuxe: Tell us about your team at Highland Park – how do you all support each other?
Vivianne: My highland park team has grown tremendously! They are the best team I have ever worked with. Working with women can be challenging at times, but overall we all work together. If we are in a group, we always help set each other up. If a station needs to be cleaned due to a designer or guest running behind, we help out. We stay as organized as we possibly can due to our studio always being busy which I love.
We are all one big family and I couldn’t picture myself at another location! – Vivianne Rocha.
MiniLuxe: What’s your ideal MiniMoment? What do you do when you’re not working to care for your mind, body or soul?
Vivianne: My ideal MiniMoment is training my dogs and taking them to the dog park. I love to paint and sing (although I am certainly not good at all) and love to be outside. I consider myself a giver and if I can donate or volunteer, I definitely jump on the opportunity. Giving back, servicing people, and making them feel human again is always my end goal.
MiniLuxe: Who’s a woman you admire and why?
Vivianne: My mother. My mom has been through the worst of the worst and I consider her my hero. She is probably the strongest woman I know. With loss, abuse, being a single mom, she always kept herself strong to continue raising me into the woman I am today. Without my mother, I do not think I would be as strong as I try to be for her. I am so proud to call her my mother. She has never left my side through my struggles and is the glue in my family. I admire the woman she is and admire how molded and brave she is.
MiniLuxe: Whose nails would you like to get your hands on and why?
Vivianne: I will take on anyone with lengthy nails. I love having a bigger canvas I can work with. It gives me an opportunity to showcase my skill and precision in my geometric style.
MiniLuxe: If you could only wear one nail polish color for the rest of your life, what color would it be?
Vivianne: Although green is my favorite color, I would have to choose a sheer pink color for the rest of my life. If it were a Miniluxe color, it would definitely be Boston Ballet.
