FAQS

How should I prepare for the Consultation?

  • Nails should be bare and free of all types of polish to ensure accurate measurements. If you need a gel or wet polish removal, please book accordingly.
  • If you choose to create a custom design with your nail artist, you may send any inspiration photos in advance with your full name and consultation appointment date and time to custom@paintbox.com. Please do so at least 3 days before your consultation.

Can I customize a Lookbook design?

Yes, just discuss the changes you want to make with your nail artist during the consultation. Examples of changes are polish colors or having solid colors with designs on feature nails only.

Can you match my Custom press ons to a dress or outfit that I’m wearing for an event?

Absolutely. Just email a photo of what you plan to wear in advance and your nail artist can walk you through how that can translate to your custom design.

How does the Design Creation step work?

One set of photos of your design-in-process will be sent via email where you can give your nail artist feedback and approve the design direction. Please note that if there are significant changes, an extra design charge may apply.

How long will it take for my Custom press ons to be completed?

We strive to complete Custom press ons in 1 - 2 weeks and the exact timing will be discussed during your consultation. The timing of completion depends on how intricate the design is, and includes but is not limited to, the Design Creation check-in step and pipeline of Custom press ons the nail artist needs to complete.

When will I know that my Custom press ons are done?

You will receive an email stating that your Custom press ons are ready. You can then book an application appointment or pick them up.

When do I pay for my Custom press ons?

Custom press ons must be purchased at the time of the consultation.

Should I tip my nail artist?

While we understand Custom press ons include a product purchase, we encourage tipping your nail artist as they extend expert craftsmanship and detailed thought in making your perfect set of nails and recommend doing so upon pick up or the application appointment.

Do you save my nail measurements for me?

Yes, we save your nail sizes in your personal profile, so you do not have to get re-fitted every time.

Is Custom press on application an additional cost?

Applications are considered a separate service and are an additional cost. We also package your Custom press ons with gel tabs so you can apply them at home if you prefer.

How far in advance should I book a consultation if I want my custom nails completed in time for an event?

We recommend at least 3 weeks in advance of an event.

Is glue or gel tabs recommended for application?

Gel tabs are recommended for application for ease of removal and to ensure your Custom press ons are reusable.
